I Love Lists

I found this on a blog I was reading. I thought it was great. Here is a link ... 45 Rules to Live By 1. Life isn’t fair, but it’s still good. 2. When in doubt, just take the next small step. 3. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone… 4. Your job won’t take care of you when you are sick. Your friends and parents will. Stay in touch. 5. Pay off your credit cards every month. 6. You don’t have to win every argument. Agree to disagree. 7. Cry with someone. It’s more healing than crying alone. 8. It’s OK to get angry with God. He can take it. 9. Save for retirement starting with your first paycheck. 10. When it comes to chocolate, resistance is futile. 11. Make peace with your past so it won’t screw up the present. 12. It’s OK to let your children see you cry. 13. Don’t compare your life to others. You have no idea what their journey is all about. 14. If a relationship has to be a secret, you shouldn’t be in it. 15. Everything can change in the blink of an eye. But don’t worry; God n...

Barbie

I have very fond memories as a little girl, playing with Barbie. I guess I should say Barbie doll(s). I had at least nine and only one Ken. Didn't everyone? That Ken was a lucky guy. Well, I always imagined having triplet daughters. They were all blond. Their names were Kelly, Kristy, and Karen (I think). lol Little did I know at the time... My four Barbies and one Ken.

4th of July

We enjoyed a nice 4th of July. The kids enjoyed lots of activities and contests at the pool. Aubree even won a prize in the tug-of-war against the lifeguards. She had a blast. Later that evening we took our chairs and cooler to the balcony/roof to enjoy the fireworks. Our house is positioned where we can enjoy fireworks displays from two different towns. It was relaxing and I enjoyed it very much.

Break Over

Yes, it is still summertime. No, we have not done all we wanted to. Camp is over and the girls have started some of their regular activities this week. It seems like a few practices or lessons each week get into my "time". Summer spoils me. I don't want to follow much of a schedule. When fall arrives I am the first one ready to follow a more scheduled day. But, until summer is over, its NOT over! Maybe I just need an attitude check. At least they aren't whining about being bored. Monday: art class Tuesday: basketball practice, guitar lessons Wednesday: youth group Thursday: dance Friday: basketball practice (yea, I know, right?) Saturday: Sunday: church And I am the parent who has always limited my kiddos to one activity each. I know my own limitations. It looks like for now, we have only one free day each week. Wow, maybe I should re-think this. I need at least one more full month of leisure time before we start school.
