Hand-made Christmas

Image
One of a handful of Christmas gifts I have made for this year. This will be given to my little great niece, Reagan. I was so happy to hear how she loves to wrap her baby dolls in blankets and carry them around.

A Little Late

I'm running a little behind on the pillow challenge. I still have to make 5 out of 7 pillows. lol They are planned. The first if for a friend. I promised her a pillow last summer, so I will work on it first. Then, the remaining 4 will be large pillows for Kaitlyn's room. They should be fairly simple. I didn't finish the pillow challenge in 7 days, but maybe by day 14!

Pillow # 2

Here are pictures of my pillow re-do from yesterday. It was pitiful. The tassles were barely there. I decided to crochet some new ones. I happened to find some brown yarn left over from another project. Here is the reconstructed pillow with four new tassles! This is not a great picture. I should have found a more neutral background.

Crocheted Baby Blanket

I made this blanket last week for a friend at church. The pattern is from Posie gets Cozy. It is the Tiramisu Baby Blanket. I plan to make a few more to have on hand for baby showers. I'm thinking red with zebra ribbon.

PillowsPillowsPillows

Yes, I am keeping up with the pillow challenge over at houseonhillroad. I have completed two pillows and it is day two! I have just been too busy to upload pics. Hopefully I will post some tomorrow. The first pillow I worked on was actually a repair. I restuffed it. Maybe that wasn't cheating. It really needed done. The second pillow was also a repair, but a little more involved. It needed four new tassles and a seam had come loose. The tassles were beyond repair so I crocheted new ones. I love how they turned out. This pillow required total reconstruction so it was definitely not a cheat. Both pillows belonged to daughters of mine. Two down and five to go!

Favorite Photo of the Day!

This morning I received a call telling me my new great nephew had arrived! His name is Wyatt (undetermined middle name). He weighed 8 lbs. He is pictured here with his mom and big brother Mason. Mason was much more interested in seeing his mommy! lol I can't wait to see him and hold him.

Next Week

I plan to do this next week. I have a few ideas to start with. The challenge is to make seven pillows. I will try to complete one each day, but one or two of the projects may just be repairs on pillows I've already made. I made a pillow for Kaitlyn a while back that has become flat with lots of use. I need to re-stuff the insert. I have promised to make a pillow similar to this one for a friend since last summer. Courtney has requested a few more for her apartment. The only problem I foresee is narrowing my choices down to seven!
