On A Sewing Roll...

Image
I just finished a new pillow for Kaitlyn. She is gone to camp so I hope to surprise her by doing a little decorating in her room. This pillow is from Anna Maria Horner's book, Seams to Me. I had alot of fun with this project and will probably make a few.

Here is the picnic blanket I worked on last week. I love it and can't wait to use it. I made this from totally thrifted fabrics. The project idea was from here . Her projects are always clearly written and fun to do.

Sunday Traditions

For many years I have wanted to form family traditions for Sundays. Most importantly, going to church together as a family being our main priority. But some minor priorities are: having a simple breakfast of muffins or homemade cinnamon rolls and juice, having an all-out "Sunday Dinner" complete with homemade bread and a special dessert, and having activities either planned or avaliable for making memories as a family. We didn't make it to church this morning, but we did manage the other three items on my list. After having a quiet morning with coffee and finishing my book, I baked blueberry muffins. I have picked out some vintage pillowcases to make myself a new bag. I have also created (in my mind) new outfits for my girls. I have some steaks marinating for my husband to grill for dinner tonight. Yeah, I like lazy days like today.

My Crew

I have been wanting new family photos with all five of the kids for quite a while. It seems that we can never schedule a time that good for everyone. Yesterday we were all home and we decided to take some pictures at some interesting sights around town. I took sixty-eight, but I won't upload them all! We had alot of fun in spite of the wind. Lubbock has some cool spots. We hope to do this again soon. I would like to hire a professional to take photos of the kids with me and Randy. I'm ashamed to say that we have never done a portait of ALL of us together. Here are some of my favorite shots from yesterday.
