It's Time to Wash Some Feet

As I was browsing a few of my favorite blogs this morning, I ran across this on Message International. These words rang true in my heart so I thought I would share them here. I encourage you to read Lisa's books. They are deep and life-changing. She is a gifted from the Lord author. Reading a few of her books have ignited a fire in my heart to draw closer to God. They challenge me to be who God called me to be. A prophetic word for women & church leaders... I woke this morning with such an urgency to share the following excerpt from Lioness Arising. I believe it is an urgent and prophetic word for Church leaders and God’s women. I shared this portion with John and he said he wished EVERY church leader could hear it...so here is our attempt. Feel free to re-post and share as you feel led. Then turning to the woman, but speaking to Simon, (Jesus) said, “Do you see this woman? I came to your home; you provided no water for my feet, but she rained tears on my feet and dried them

Sewing Groove

I've got my groove back on! I have to just sew like a maniac when the mood hits. I am currently working on three quilts. I would like to have them all finished be the end of the year. Christmas, to be more exact. Two are for gifts. The other is a fall quilt, so it would be nice to have it finished before it becomes winter. Also this week I completed a little pillow that Aubree had embroidered. I've mostly made pillows this year. They come together quickly and you feel a sense of accomplishment. That is very important to me. Otherwise I would be continually frustrated with sewing. I would have a hard time completing the larger more time consuming projects. That would cause me to have too many projects going or give up alltogether. I have been known to have up to sixteen projects going at one time! CRAZINESS! Hopefully I will have some pictures up soon.

Jace's pillow is finally finished. He waited very patiently for it. And pictured below is a theraputic heat bag that I made for my mom.

Family Visit

Several years ago we moved 500 miles away from my hometown. We have moved several times since then. That first move was one of the hardest. It is hard to move away from the only thing you have ever known. Not only did we move away from all of our extended family, my Mom lived next door to us. My kids had grown up with the freedom to walk next door to see "Gobug", their grandma, whenever they wanted. For us, moving that far away, meant probably only yearly visits, at most. The expense and scheduling conflicts with my husband's job and five children made visiting more often almost impossible. We eventually moved a little closer and had more frequent visits. Then we even moved back for a short while. Now, we again, live 500 miles away. All that to say... Last week we had a wonderful visit at our home with my mom and sister! We had a wonderful time. We went out to eat, went shopping, had our hair and nails done, and enjoyed relaxing. I can't wait until the next visit. I&#

Race For The Cure!

Image
Kaitlyn and Kyla ran in the Susan G. Comen Race for the Cure. It was an early morning, but I was very proud of them. Their basketball team ran in honor of their coach who is a breast cancer survivor and in memory of a team-mate's mom.
